I have some nian gao left from the Chinese New Year celebration and made this yummy snack with frozen pratas that I have in my fridge for tea-break.
This is a really quick and easy snack to prepare. Try it!
Nian Gao Prata
serves 2
Ingredients:
2 frozen prata
some nian gao
some toasted sesame seeds
some milk or egg for egg wash
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 200C.
2. Cut nian gao into rectangular strips (I am using left over nian gao that I cut into cubes for another dessert I made earlier)
3. Place a piece of nian gao at the middle of the prata.
4. Fold and roll the prata to wrap the nian gao gently so that the prata do not break. (this is to ensure the nian gao does not seep out while baking)
5. Brush the rolled nian gao prata with milk or egg wash and sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds onto the nian gao prata.
6. Bake the nian gao prata in preheated oven of 200C for 20 minute.
7. Serve warm.
