Vanilla Log Cake


Ho! Ho! Ho! 'Tis the season to be jolly! I especially love Christmas season because it's so full of holiday and festive mood! What's more, there's also lots of parties, year-end gatherings and celebrations. 

This Vanilla Log Cake is prepared especially for my company's Christmas party. Nothing fanciful, just a simply yummy log cake! :)

Kimchi Tofu Soup


This is one soup that I enjoy especially on cool weather. It is good on its own as a quick & easy one-pot dish if I add vermicelli (tung hoon), or accompany with other dishes with a bowl of rice. It's super quick & easy, and extremely versatile. You can have a very basic kimchi + tofu soup, or add in more ingredients like meat, crab meat or vermicelli for a more sumptuous and complete meal. 

The best part is...it's ready in minutes!!

Pumpkin Ondeh Ondeh


Ondeh Ondeh, a popular traditional Malay and Peranakan dessert, is a bite-sized boiled glutinous rice ball filled with gula melaka and coated with grated coconut. What I love most about these delectable snack is the burst of melted gula melaka into your mouth when you put these chewy bite-sized balls in your mouth. It's truly a symphony of texture and flavour in your mouth. Heavenly!

I had my first taste of this delectable dessert many years back on my first holiday trip to Taiwan. I remembered it was autumn when I went there. The dessert was served warm and it was such a fantastic feeling eating the QQ balls in the cool weather. Loved it at first bite!

This super healthy dessert was featured in Channel U's "Healthy U: Episode 2". This is the first time I am watching this show and find it really informative and enlightening. This episode talks about the damaging effects of preservatives and additives on our body. It is very common for us to consume food with seasonings that are chemically combined and have adverse effect on our body. Over time, toxins may build up in our body. Hence, it is  very important that we try to avoid excessive intake of such chemicals and eliminate the toxins from our body.

Pumpkin Soya Bread Loaf (Oven-baked in a Pullman tin)



I've some left over pumpkin in the fridge after cooking pumpkin rice for lunch and was deliberating whether to use it to bake a cake or a loaf of bread. Finally decided to use it together with some soya milk to make a Pumpkin Soya Bread Loaf by adapting the Wu Bao Chun's (吴宝春) Champion Bread Loaf I did earlier.
