Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart

This is simply indulgence to the max!
Chocolate + Salted Caramel in a tart...I'M ON CLOUD 9!
A sin? Never! Just pure indulgence. :)

This is a very easy-to-put-together, non-baked make-ahead dessert making use of the Salted Caramel Sauce I made earlier.

Try this. It's a definite crowd pleaser. My hubby took a bite and gave a thumbs up, commenting that it's like having a 'MARS' bar in a tart! I'll have to watch my waistline...but only after these. :)

Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart
makes a 5 1/2 inch tart pan

Ingredients:
For the Crust
95g crushed oreo cookies, cream removed (I melted the cream with the butter)
40g unsalted butter, melted

For the filling
Salted caramel sauce (I used about 6-7 tbspn)
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
Pinch of salt

Method:
1. Remove the cream from the oreo cookies and crush the cookies. Set aside.

2. Melt butter and the cream from the oreo cookies.

3. Add the crushed oreo cookies to the melted butter.

4. Press the crushed mixture firmly with the help of the back of a spoon onto the base and the sides of a 5 1/2” tart pan. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

5. In a saucepan, add the cream and bring it to a simmer.

6. Pour the cream in a bowl with the chocolate chips and let it sit for about 3 minutes.

7. Stir until the chocolate is all melted and then stir in the salt. Set aside.

8. Spoon some salted caramel sauce onto the prepared crust pan.

9. Pour the chocolate mixture over the salted caramel sauce and place it in the fridge to set.

10. Serve chilled.

Note:
To get nice and clean slices, wipe your knife in between cutting each slice.
