Green Bean Sago Soup with Peach Gum

The weather these days is really hot and humid. Staying at home in this weather makes you think of all the cooling desserts to beat the heat.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to adhere to safe distancing measures and observe personal hygiene. It is also important to stay hydrated during this period. So I've cooked some green bean sago with peach gum for the family to consume as a sweet after-meal dessert.

Green Bean Sago Soup with Peach Gum
serves 6

Ingredients:
1 cup green beans, washed and drained
1/3 cup sago pearls, washed and drained
30g peach gum
2 litre water
rock sugar (to taste)

Method:
1. Soak peach gel overnight in a bowl of water. Wash clean the next day and set aside.

2. Put green beans in a pot of water and bring to boil. Let it simmer until the green beans start to soften.

3. Add in sago pearls and continue to cook until sago turns translucent and the green beans has softened and 'split'. Make sure to stir occasionally.

4. Stir in soaked peach gum and let it cook for a few minutes.

5. Add rock sugar (to taste).

6. Serve.
