Sago Gula Melaka

I've never tried this dessert before until a colleague raved about how yummy this was. We were at a buffet table and they were serving Sago Gula Melaka as one of their desserts. I tried one, went for a second helping, and there was no turning back. It's a refreshingly rich dessert, but very addictive. Well, for me at least.

Watermelon Sago

Guess again if you think this is Rockmelon Sago dessert commonly found in Chinese restaurants' dessert menu. It sure looks deceivingly similar.

It's actually Watermelon Sago dessert. Like the Rockmelon Sago dessert, this is an equally cooling and refreshing treat!

Frozen Banana Nutella Yogurt

The weather is just hot, hot, hotter. I've made another batch of cold snack for the family using ingredients available in the house - Frozen Banana Nutella Yogurt.

Not only does it score high in taste and nutritional value (well, it's banana and greek yogurt!), it is also super easy to make! Just throw everything into the blender and blend. Yes, it's that easy! It's totally optional but I've also added some banana chips to give this frozen yogurt an extra texture.

Spiced Teh Tarik Cupcakes

Teh Tarik is a frothy local milk tea that brings back fond memories of my childhood days. Home was near Jalan Sultan area when I was young. There were quite a number of stalls selling this and I was always amazed at how the uncles were able to 'stretch' and 'transfer' the tea from one glass to another without any spills! My dad would frequent these stalls for tea break and I would be ever so thrilled whenever I ended up with foamy tea on my mouth.

I was drinking a cup of instant teh tarik when the idea hit me to try making cupcake out of this! So the experiment started and I'm super glad that the result was very well received as the cupcake was very fragrant, soft and fluffy. I spiced it up by adding some cinnamon and nutmeg powder and my kitchen smelled so wonderful!

4 Happiness (大四喜)

I've made some chilled beancurd yesterday and decided to assemble this super refreshing dessert together with the sweet potato balls made earlier and along with store-bought grass jelly and red beans.

Double Sweet Potato Balls Ginger Soup (双薯圆姜汁)

I'm feeling hot, lethargic and tired these days in this punishingly hot weather. I was elated when I saw some purple sweet potato while doing grocery shopping. I immediately know what I'm going to make. I'm pairing this lovely purple sweet potato with my orange sweet potato to make a Double Sweet Potato Balls Ginger Soup.

Served chilled, this soup is not only refreshing, it is also great in detoxing and improving our blood circulation. Just perfect for now!

Blueberry Yogurt Popsicle

I've been making popsicles every other week. There will always be some popsicles in my freezer ready for our dessert or when we just want to beat the heat.

Granola Yogurt Cupcake

It's already late at night, the supermarket near my house has closed and I've run out of bread for tomorrow morning's breakfast. Since I've just made some Homemade Granola and have some Yogurt on hand, I decided to bake a batch of Granola Yogurt Cupcake (actually muffins should be more appropriate) for tomorrow's breakfast and to support my long time friend Cheryl who will be hosting the event Little Thumbs Up (May 2015: Yogurt).
