What would you do when you have lots of leftover DURIANS? This is a back-post of what I did. I added them to my bakes to make a Durian Butter Cake.

Chocolate Gateau

This super indulgent cake recipe was shared by my colleague a while back. It is a TO-DIE-FOR cake, especially if you love chocolatey nutty cakes!

Banana Walnut Cinnamon Cupcake

I always love the combination of banana and walnut. So when I saw this post on Cinnamon Banana Walnut Cake, I immediately bookmarked the recipe. Instead of baking a cake, I adapted Happy Home Baking's recipe into Banana Walnut Cinnamon Cupcakes so that it's easier to distribute to my girls' classmates for their pot-luck party.

Muah Chee (Microwaved Version)

I never fail to buy a packet of Muah Chee whenever I go to the local Pasar Malam. Hence I was extremely thrilled to chance upon this easy peasy recipe in Awayofmind Bakery House's post.

French Almond Cake

This French Almond Cake is one cake that my mom gave compliments to. I saw this in Happy Home Baking's post and knew I had to bake one for my mom.

Champion Sweet Potato Bread (Oven-baked in a Pullman tin)

Shortly after making the Champion Bread Loaf, I decided to make a Champion Sweet Potato Bread variation of this bread by adding sweet potato.

Wu Bao Chun's Champion Bread Loaf (using Breadmaker)

I've been baking bread using my Zoji breadmaker ever since I've bought it half a year ago. So far the recipe used yield soft and fluffy bread. The only problem was I find that they becomes rather dry and stiff after a day even when stored in an air-tight container. So I was really excited when I saw Victoria's post on Wu Bao Chun's Champion Toast (吴宝春金牌土司) and decided to give this bread recipe a try.

Pumpkin Bread Loaf

I've been thinking of all the healthy ingredients I can add to my bread and I came up with this Pumpkin Bread Loaf!

Apricot Dream Loaf

I enjoy eating bread with lots of crunch and texture. Hence I've come up with this Apricot Dream Loaf variation with the addition of dried apricots and chopped walnut.

Cheddar Cheese Bread

I love cheese, so it's very natural that I will incorporate it in my bakes. Ever since I started baking bread using my Zoji breadmaker, I've been thinking of the different variations of bread to try out. This Cheddar Cheese Bread is a healthy loaf for breakfast!

Coffee Walnut Bread

My husband's must haves every morning is a cup of coffee and a slice of bread. So I thought...why not make a Coffee Walnut Bread!

Cranberry Flaxseed Wholemeal Bread (using Breadmaker)

I've always loved the heavenly aroma of freshly baked bread whenever I pass by bakery shops. Breadmaking is something I never imagine I will do... well...not until I decided to get myself a Zojiroshi Breadmaker! This is one of my earliest bread loaf I made using my Zoji breadmaker. It's a super healthy and hearty loaf as I've added flaxseed meal, cranberries, wholemeal flour, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. There so much crunch and texture to the bread that I can down a few slices at one go!

Chilled Beancurd

This refreshing dessert was hugely popular a few years back and you can always see long queues for a bowl of these chilled beancurd at hawker centres. This is one of my favourites too and I never fail to join in the queue at one of those 'Lao Ban Dou Hua' or '51 Soya Bean' stores.

Luo Han Guo with Chrysanthemum and American Ginseng Fiber Tea (罗汉果洋参菊花茶)

The weather has been relentlessly hot of late. I've brewed a big pot of luo han guo with chrysanthemum and american ginseng fiber(罗汉果洋参菊花茶) for the whole family to drink to beat the heat.

Almost Kenny Roger's Corn Muffins

My husband loves Kenny Roger's and one of the must-haves would be their Corn Muffins! I've tried a few corn muffins recipes but I like this recipe from Piece of Cake most. Even my girl who doesn’t take to corn gave her two thumbs up for this corn muffin recipe!

Mochi Cheese Puffs (Pão de Queijo)

When I saw my friend Meng Choo's Facebook posting on Mochi Cheese Puffs, I had an instant urge to sink my teeth into one of those small little cheesy puffs!

Magic Chocolate Custard Cake

My first attempt at the Original flavour of the Magic Custard Cake was a hit with my family. Shortly after, I decided to attempt a chocolate version.

Magic Custard Cake

I chanced upon this last year from e' joie's blog and knew instantly I had to give this recipe a try.

Doraemon Doriyaki

If you watch Doraemom, you will know that this super cute robot cat's favourite sweet treat is Dorayaki. Dorayaki is basically a Japanese pancake sandwich. The original Dorayaki contains red bean paste, but it has become so versatile that other fillings like Nutella, jam, ice cream, etc are used to sandwich the two pancakes.

Charlotte Rainbow Cake

 Charlotte Rainbow Cake

Rainbow Cake was very popular since a few years back and many of my friends were posting pictures of rainbow cake slices they ordered whenever they have their 'coffee/tea' time. To surprise my girl who loves rainbow, I decided to bake a Rainbow Cake for her birthday.

Ombre Cake

 Ombre Cake

Other than the popular Elsa and Anna characters from Frozen, my girl has been hooked onto My Little Pony. For her 6th birthday, I decided to bake a cake with My Little Pony decoration for her to bring to school. I had done a Red Velvet Cake and a Rainbow Cake in her previous birthdays and I wanted to give her a surprise. Hence, I decided on an Ombre Cake.

Japanese Strawberry Shortcake

 Japanese Strawberry Shortcake

I've always oogled at Japanese Strawberry Shortcakes on display at confectioneries like Four Seasons, Sun Moulin, etc. Makes you just want to sink your teeth into one of those fluffy and creamy cake slices together with the red succulent strawberries.

Rosette Lychee Cake

 Rosette Lychee Cake

For my mother-in-law's 80th birthday, I've decided to bake a Lychee Cake using my trusted basic vanilla sponge cake as the base for a layer cake since she does not like anything that has butter. The fillings were added with canned lychee meat and instead of making sugar syrup to brush the cake layers before frosting, I used the syrup from the canned lychee.

Basic Vanilla Sponge Cake

I've tried several sponge cake recipes but this is the one that is always fail-proof. It's fluffy and moist texture has made me go back to this recipe whenever I need to make a sponge cake or any layered cake using a sponge cake base.

Matcha World Cup Cake 2014

Matcha World Cup Cake 2014

I've been cracking my head over what to bake for my hubby for being a such a great daddy to our daughter for Father's Day. As Father's Day happened to be in the midst of World Cup 2014, I decided to bake a cake along the theme to join in the World Cup fever.

Prelude

Welcome to the birth of my food blog. With the encouragement of friends, I'm proud to present my very first blog entry.

Blogging is very new to me. Guess what? I'm learning from someone half my age on how to go about starting a blog! I'm so excited at the thought of starting something new. I'm still finding my way through and sorting out some of the recipes that I've 'dug' out. I will be updating these recipes to my blog in time and I hope you will enjoy reading about my baking journey.

For World Cup 2014, I've especially baked a Matcha Cake to join in the World Cup fever and also to celebrate Father's Day. I will be typing out the recipe soon, so stay tuned to my blog!
