Pumpkin Kaya



I love kaya. Love it so much that I can eat it on its own. It's not that healthy as there are lots of eggs used to make kaya traditionally. So this Pumpkin Kaya recipe that I chanced upon got me really excited, because no eggs are required at all!

Pumpkin Beancurd (南瓜豆花)



I've been making a fair bit of pumpkin related dishes and snacks this month. This is another dessert I've tried...Pumpkin Beancurd that uses agar agar powder instead of the instant jelly powder I usually use to make Chilled Beancurd.

Steamed Pumpkin Muffins



Work up slightly earlier this morning to make some Steamed Pumpkin Muffins for breakfast. I've already prepared the pumpkin puree the night before, so the whole process was super quick and fuss free. All ready within half an hour!

Purple Sweet Potato Brown Rice Mix (紫薯糙米)


This is great for breakfast or if you just want to settle your hunger pangs in a jiffy. There is hardly any cooking required for this. But this is really healthy for all, regardless of what age you are.

九份芋圆 (加番薯和南瓜圆)



I had my first taste of this delectable dessert many years back on my first holiday trip to Taiwan. I remembered it was autumn when I went there. The dessert was served warm and it was such a fantastic feeling eating the QQ balls in the cool weather. Loved it at first bite!

Pumpkin Fried Rice Noodles


I had intended to cook pumpkin rice for dinner yesterday. When preparing the ingredients, blur me realised I had run out of rice. Thankfully I had a pack of rice noodles (bee hoon to be exact) and cooked Pumpkin Fried Rice Noodles instead.

Sweet Potato Balls in Ginger Broth (姜汁番薯圆)


This super healthy dessert was featured in Channel U's "Healthy U: Episode 2". This is the first time I am watching this show and find it really informative and enlightening. This episode talks about the damaging effects of preservatives and additives on our body. It is very common for us to consume food with seasonings that are chemically combined and have adverse effect on our body. Over time, toxins may build up in our body. Hence, it is  very important that we try to avoid excessive intake of such chemicals and eliminate the toxins from our body.

Black Sesame Red Bean Bun


I was at a bakery at Fortune Centre the other day oogling at their wonderful creations and deciding what bread to buy, simply because they have so many interesting types of breads. One of them that caught my eye was black sesame with azuki bun. Since I've run out of bread for breakfast, I decided to try baking some Black Sesame Red Bean Buns.

I have to thank Ann for this inspiration! I've made Vitagen Pudding using vitagen and agar agar powder previously but I've never thought of adding pumpkin to agar agar to make a refreshing snack.

Pumpkin Soya Bread Loaf (Oven-baked in a Pullman tin)



I've some left over pumpkin in the fridge after cooking pumpkin rice for lunch and was deliberating whether to use it to bake a cake or a loaf of bread. Finally decided to use it together with some soya milk to make a Pumpkin Soya Bread Loaf by adapting the Wu Bao Chun's (吴宝春) Champion Bread Loaf I did earlier.
